Spiritually, Physically, and Psychologically in my personal life

Introduction

The importance of a health and wellness professional developing psychologically, spiritually and physically is very important in my opinion, as a personal trainer and a student of health and wellness how can you teach what you haven’t learned. Psychological is the development of human beings’ cognitive, emotional, intellectual, and social capabilities and functioning over the course of the life span, from infancy through old age, this is your learning phase which never stops but gives you experience to deal with different aspects and outcomes in your life to help you become knowledgeable and wise. Spiritual this is pertaining to the spirit or soul, as distinguished from the physical nature when you may have a spiritual approach to life.  Having this sense of spirituality or understanding can give you better view to deal with people and other religions and beliefs. Physically is also very important because it represents the physical appearance of mind and body and some people need the visual appearance to determine how they deal with you. In the fitness world I won’t say everyone but there are a lot of people from my experience that judge you on the physical appearance as a trainer. Your production as a trainer is also is establish by your health and wellness, which is your mind and body.
Breaking down which of the 3 I would need more to achieve my goals can be hard to say because they all work together. But if I had to choose it would be my physical because the physical to me is your mind and body which is also defined as your health and wellness so if I take the time to improve my physical which is my body it force you to deal with your wellness which is your mind. This improvement would be a key component to achieve my goals in health and wellness.

Assessment

In my assessment for each domain of my wellness status in my spiritual, psychological, and physical domains, I scored myself using numbers 1 threw  3. I kept it very simple, 1 needs improvement, 2 good and 3 Excellent.
The assessment for my spiritual wellness I gave myself (1) because I don’t feel I am spiritually involved as I could be, my wife would be a (3) which I feel that is helping me to accomplish a 2 because I am becoming more involved and what I don’t understand she is always willing to help me learn. The physical wellness I would give myself a strong (2) because being in the fitness industry it has helped to push me with healthier eating habits, taking care of body and becoming very focus as far as mind and body.  Also you must practice what you preach. Final my psychological wellness I gave myself a (3) because I am 44 years old and I am still learning but I have learned from my life experience, I have a 22 year old son graduating from college with honors, I have begun a new career after being a graphic designer for about 17 years, now beginning a life in the health and wellness field, I have a 4 month old daughter and a new bride and I am learning and building new goals everyday so my understanding of my thoughts and feelings are key to helping build and conquer these new dreams and goals.

Goal development

A goal I would love to accomplish with the physical development of my life is improving on healthier eating habits. I am learning and making changes but it is hard, you have to find that mid area so the change can become permanent. During this process learning about what they put into foods and actually understanding what labels mean has made this change become harder to just grab something and eat but on the positive side it is improving my planning.
The goal I would like for psychological is reading more getting chance to really study more about what I am learning in health and wellness and improve my knowledge and understanding of fitness and health.
My goal for spiritual is simple just to be more involved, if its church, church programs or just reading the bible I would like a better understanding.

Practices for personal health

Strategies that I could implement to foster growth in each of the following domains, Physical, Psychological, and Spiritual. Well for a general answer for all I would do two definite things one I would make a effort to schedule time once or twice a week for 30 minutes to evaluate the steps I am taking to have growth in these three domains and if no progress or plan has been written down then I would take that time to create small goals for the week for each domain, then I would also have a long term goal and see if my progress from my short term goals have me on the right track for the long term goal. That would be one option, the second option get a partner someone you trust that would push you and you can push them and with a partner you can make a competition or just you motivating each other.
What i feel are good for my physical domain, are muay thai kickboxing and running with music. Muay thai kickboxing i was doing 2 to 3x a week but work and school slow that down. i am now organizing my schedual better so i can try and get to a few morning classes. Muay thai is a form of martials art that takes disicipline, strength, endurane and concentration. You can do it with a class which with the support and motivation of other classmates help me to stay focused build confidence and relaxes my mind. This is a mind and body exercise that helps heighten your sences and builds strength. It can also be done one on one or by yourself. Running is another form of exercise that can be done as a group or individually it is great to do it on the treadmill with your favorite music on but lately the weather has changed and Saturday mornings sometimes Sundays I get to go in Prospect Park in Brooklyn NY and run. It does everything for you feeling the sun on you, watching all the families and kids playing and smelling all the new spring flowers and trees it relaxes, gives you a sense of energy that makes you feel alive.
Spiritual goes back to setting goals, I would need this to read more and be more involved. Sometimes reading about spiritual things can be hard to understand and discouraging, I would like to make more time and discuss spirituality with my wife. Make and effort not only to make it to church but bible study so I can ask questions and learn. Also by getting involved I want to plan more Sundays at church, get involved in the youth, outreach and other programs that associate with more spiritual belief and background.
Psychological and my spiritual  have the same type of goal setting but with psychological it is a bigger spectrum I want to take time out from my day and read more about what I am learning, teach my self more organization so my days are not overwhelmed then I can take the time and learn more about meditation. Take time to spend and grow with my new bride and newborn daughter also take a class about fitness, meditation or health and sit back and receive all the knowledge and not be so overwhelmed that you don't actually receive all of what is being taught.

Commitment

I will assess my progress or lack of progress in the next six months with my short-term goals and long-term goals. I would set aside time with my wife and I every 2 weeks to go over the progress and see the changes I have made to achieve my goals. The reason I would involve my wife because then you are accountable for somebody other than yourself and I know me, sometimes I need that push and my wife is that type of woman who is organize and believes and understands the reason in setting goals. She is a woman who always says to me “fail to plan and plan to fail” but just using the method of setting short-term goals to prepare you and keep your eyes on the big goal is a great way to succeed in almost any task.
